Top Tips
For keeping your carpet and upholstery looking their best.
1. In emergencies make your own spot remover by mixing 1 teaspoon non-bio detergent to half a pint (0.75liters) of warm water.
2. If treating tea coffee or red wine add two tablespoons of white vinegar to the above recipe.
3. To keep your carpets looking great vacuum heavy traffic areas on a regular basis, perhaps two to three times a week.
4. By using both indoor and out door entrance mats you will greatly reduce the amount of soil tracked into your home.
5. Over time, the stain-resistance of protected and stain-resistant carpet wears down. For optimum performance, have a top up protector applied after cleaning.
6. Stain-resistant does not mean stain-proof. By acting immediately you may prevent spots and spills from causing permanent damage.
7. Always test colourfastness in an inconspicuous area when using any spot removing products.
8. Test rugs for colourfastness before placing over carpet as some rugs may leach their colour.
9. Periodically vacuum under rugs to remove loose dirt that may have filtered through the rugs on to your carpet.
10. Your furniture collects everyday dirt and soil just like your carpet so a light vacuuming on a regular basis will help to keep your upholstery looking good.
11. As you are vacuuming why not turn the back and base cushions to distribute even wear. |
