Fringe Cleaning
The majority of rug fringes are cotton but they can also be silk or wool. The fringe is made of the warp yarns of the foundation of the rug. We regularly see heavily soiled and damaged fringes caused by pets and vacuum cleaners. Our policy is to clean the fringes apposed to bleaching them, as the bleaching process tends to deteriorate cotton fibres and can leave the fringe bone-white. In some instances when the fringe is severely damaged, we are able to replace with a new fringe.
