Pigmented Leather
Images 1 & 2 - In an attempt to remove a pen mark from this leather sofa’s arm, the pigment was removed by my client. We cleaned the arm. Colour matched the pigment then applied a polymer seal and finished with a protector to restore this sofa.
Images 3 & 4 - We were called in to view a sofa that was deemed heavily soiled and that could not be cleaned. The client had used baby wipes over a period of 6 years to keep the sofa clean. Unbeknown to the client the baby wipes actually removed the protector that covers the polymer that in turn protects the pigment on the leather. Once the polymer is removed the sofa tends to feel sticky and soils quickly, so out come the baby wipes and the circle of pigment removal is repeated. We were able to clean the leather down with the correct cleaning agents, re-pigment the leather, and apply a new polymer coating followed by a protector. Then we supplied the client with a bottle of LaZy Leather and instructions on how to care for their leather upholstery.
Images 5 & 6 - To remove an unknown stain from a two tone leather sofa, one of our clients took a bit of advice from the World Wide Web and attempted to clean the spot that was the size of a five pence piece with white spirit. As you can see the unknown spot was removed, along with a sizeable area of the pigment from the leather. We were able to colour match, reseal and protect the area almost back to the original finish.
