As many of you know I like to take time out of my business for education. This year I decided to attend a week long course on leather restoration down in Tetbury. Yes, I have been restoring leather for many years and I also run leather identification and cleaning courses for the NCCA (National Carpet Cleaners Association), but it never hurts to brush up your skills, take on new ideas and learn new skills.
The course concentrated on the acquisition of techniques.
Neil our tutor was very skilled in the art of restoration and a mind full of historical information on the subject. He had us patching, stitching, cutting, dying and colour matching right from the start.
Before the course we were asked to bring down some projects to work on and among other things I took down my neighbour's handbag, which some would say was ready for the bin.
However, after some hours the following results were achieved.
Bright& Fresh will be at the 2010 Swallowfield Show, which takes place on both Sunday 29 August and Monday 30 August at Whitehouse Farm, Spencers Wood, Reading.
