Handbag Cleaning
Here we have a selection of three leather handbags. The tan and the lime green handbag are both aniline leathers and tend to absorb soils easily. The brown handbag is often refuted to a pull up style as it has a finish, originally the finish may have been a wax or oil but today many have a polyurethane coating.
The lime green handbag had only been used a couple of times before it started to taking on the blue dye from a new pair of jeans. As the dye had been absorbed into the leather it could not be cleaned so a pigment was mixed and applied to the damaged panels.
The tan handbag was cleaned and then had a protector added.
The brown pull-up style handbag had a number of scuffs and scratches, so we cleaned the bag before adding some leather dye to the damaged panels, finishing off with a leather protector.
Due to the size value of many designer handbags, we find that we receive many cleaning requests from far and wide.
